Choose one new healthy goal a month. Example: Chose to consume less sugar in diet. Simple and easy works. Start with your coffee. Try less sugar with each cup of java. If that works for a week, try adding less sugar somewhere else in your diet. Keep up for a month. Change your habits by taking baby steps.

Try something new, but keep it simple. Add two new foods to your diet weekly. Try one new vegetable and one new fruit each week. Think of it as your fun experiment at the grocery store. You’ll never know what you like until you try it.

Work your core, improve your run. When your core and glutes are weak, the entire leg can get misaligned, which can stress all the muscles and joints. Building strength in your core will help you get faster, run more efficiently, and maintain proper form, even through fatigue.

A new study published in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition (June 2012) concludes that raisins and sports chews are equally effective for pre-run fueling.
Researchers tested 11 male athletes. Each subject completed three time trials, each spaced apart by a week. Subjects consumed just water before one, raisins before one, and sports chews before one.
In the end, researchers found the raisins and the chews improved running performance equally. (Water alone did not improve performance.)
